Mélomano como sou, é-me cada vez mais difícil escolher o melhor álbum de um ano, principalmente quando considero que esse ano foi prolífero em descobertas de novas bandas e músicos, de novas músicas e sobretudo de uma incrível criatividade por parte de bandas e músicos que adoro e que, em alguns casos, há já muitos anos que os acompanho. Embora sempre com a sensação inglória de não ter conhecido todos os discos que tinha que ouvir, encontrei um grande grande prazer em ouvir música e fizeram das horas deste ano que termina momentos deliciosos.
Não ordenarei por preferência os favoritos deste ano, representando, isso sim, aqueles 10 discos que se tivesse que escolher à pressa e só pudesse levar um número tão reduzido de discos, seriam certamente estes estariam mais à mão.
Music lover as I am, It's more difficult to choose best album of the year, especially when I find it so fruitful in discovering new band and musicians, new music e mostly an amazing creativity of bands witch I love and that I follow for quite some time now. Although with the inglorious feeling of not knowing all the music that I should have known, I found a great great pleasure listen to all the music that I had and that make my hours in sublime moments.
I will not rated in preference my choice, but instead this small list represents the albums that are close to me that if I have suddenly to leave for somewhere else they'll the firsts one that I pick up.

Mas também é certo que os mais recentes albuns "Falling Down A Mountain" (2010) e "The Hungry Saw"(2008) têm canções excepcionais como "Flicker Of A Little Girl", "The Hungry Saw", "Yesterday tomorrows", "Black Smoke" ou "Harmony Around My Table". Em Fevereiro de 2012 sairá o seu mais recente disco “the something rain”, que apresenta este single "Medicine" e nostalgias à parte, sabe bem ouvir música nova dos "Tindersticks".

Chega-nos da terra dos "Kings of convinince" Bergen (Noruega) os promissores "Young Dreams", um colectivo folk-pyschadelic-rock-tropicalia que têm para já estes miminhos: "Young dreams", "Dearm alone wake together" e "Flight 376". Recentemente assinaram um contrato com a editora Modular People e com a Télle, pelas quais editarão novo material, incluindo o álbum de estreia, para o ano que se aproxima.
Promising "Young dreams" are from Bergen (Norway) Kings of convinince's home town, a folk-pyschadelic-rock-tropicalia collective and have for now this sweetest thing: "Young dreams", "Dream alone wake together" and "Flight 376". Recently they signed a new label contract with Modular People and Télle and they'll release new material next year, including their album debut.

Gosto muito dos "Handsome Furs", embora "Sound Kapital" (album mais recente) seja para mim o álbum menos interessante, comparando-o com "Face Control" e principlamente com o álbum de estreia "Plague Park". O que não quer dizer que não não haja canções neste disco completamente viciantes tais como "What about Us" ou este novo video "Serve the People".
I'm quite fun of "Handsome Furs", although "Sound Kapital" (the latest album) is the least interesting work, if you compare with "Face Control" and specially is you compare with "Plague Park" debut album. But that doesn't mean that this third record doesn’t have songs absolutely delight like "What about us" or this new video "Serve the People".

Tudo isto porque os Caveman formaram-se o ano passado, por vontade de um grupo de amigos nova iorquinos. Até aqui, igual a tantas outras bandas. E se eu disser que os "The National", ou "The antlers", podem ser a grande referencia, ou a grande comparação, heresias à parte, estarei somente a contribuir para a sugestão de que daqui não vai vir nada de novo. Senti isso quando li sobre eles mas garanto que deixei de tecer juízos de valor assim que os ouvi. Numa entrevista à revista "Under the radar", "James Cargill" afirmou que encontrava-se em estudio a gravar um novo album e uma banda sonora para o filme de Peter Strickland "Berberian Sound Studio", a partir de vocalizações gravadas pela Trish Keenan antes de morrer em Janeiro passado. Refere ainda nessa entrevista que a vocalista deixaram muitas gravações e que ao trabalha-las sente incrivelmente a sua perda, mas ao mesmo tempo tem a consciencia de que o resultado será bastante belo. Para recordar "Come On Let's Go" ao vivo no programa de "Jools Holland BBC 2000".

Na minha opinião, há nos "Echo lake" um olhar para os finais dos anos 80 e princípios dos anos 90 com respeito e dignidade pela musica de bandas como "Slowdive", "Lush" nos primeiros registos e outras bandas que habitavam ambientes "dream-pop" e transformar essas atmosferas numa musica refrescante e sem aquela sensação de que são colones. Têm um novo video para um tema integrante do seu EP de estreia "Young Silence". "Buried at Sea" foi filmado na costa de Granada, no Sul de Espanha.
In my opinion, There's an Echo lake's vision of music of late 80's and beginning 90's with a respect and dignity for bands like "Slowdive", "Lush" in their beggining career and some other "dream-pop" bands and transform those atmospheres in refreshing music without that feeling that you heard that music before. They have a new video for a track in "Young Silence" debut EP. "Buried at Sea" was filmed off the coast of Granada in Southern Spain.
