The forms - Derealization (EP)

Os the Forms agora reduzidos a duo vocalista/teclados Alex Tween e o multi-instrumentalista Matt Walsh, vão lançar um novo EP de remixes,Derealization, a 15 de Fevereiro. Trata-se de novas roupagens de 6 temas com a participação de convidados como: Matt Berninger - The National, Craig Wedren- Shudder To Think, Nat Baldwin dos Dirty Projectors, Daniel Hart - St. Vincent, and Andrew Thiboldeaux dos Pattern is Movement. The Forms, now the duo of vocalist/keyboardist Alex Tween and multi-instrumentalist Matt Walsh, are releasing a new “remix” EP, Derealization, in February 15TH. DeVotchKa - 100 Lovers

E a banda de Denver chega ao 5º disco com "100 lovers" a 28 de Fevereiro. Mais um maravilhoso disco Indie-Rock para 2011. Claro que lembram sobretudo "Calexico" e "Neko case", e outros mais, mas a carga emocional imprimida em cada nota, conquista-me e simplesmente mergulho nas canções. Sinto sobretudo que estão ali todos os sentimentos que fazem deles uma banda que faz da música a sua vida. E fazem-no com muito amor. "The Alley", "All the sand in all the sea", "One Hundred other Lovers", "The Man from San Sebastian", "Bad Luck Heels" e "Contrabanda" são as minhas preferidas. Para ouvir "All the sand in all the sea".
And the band from Denver release their fifth record "100 lovers" on February 28TH. One more wonderful Indie Rock record for 2011. Of course they remind me "Calexico" and "Neko case" and other similar bands, but the emotion printed on every sound conquers me and simply I dive into the songs. I Fell that there are all their emotions that makes them a band who work in music because it's their life. And they do it with much much love. "The Alley", "All the sand in all the sea", "One Hundred other Lovers", "The Man from San Sebastian", "Bad Luck Heels" and "Contrabanda" are my favorites. The Boxer Rebellion - The Cold Still

E eis que chega dia 7 de Fevereiro às lojas o sucessor de "Union" (2009) dos "The Boxer Rebellion". "The Cold Still" continua a abordagem "Alternative / Indie / Rock", não trazendo novidade em termos de inovação, optando por uma abordagem sólida e bem trabalhada deste género musical. O que já não é nada mau. Para ver "Step out of the car".
And it will be release on February 7TH the The Boxer Rebellion's new record after "Union" (2009). "The Cold Still" continues one "Alternative / Indie / Rock" approach, without innovate this kind of music sound, but working on very good constructed songs. The BaBies - The BaBies

Lembram os "Pixies" de "Suffer Rosa"... os "The Babies" trata-se de um projecto paralelo de "Cassie Ramone" (guitarrista e vocalista - "Vivian Girls") e "Kevin Morby" (Woods). Menos "intensos" que as suas bandas originais, mas com alguns temas bastante cativantes: "Wild 2", "Meet Me In The City", "Breaking The Law" e "All Things Come To Pass". Para ouvir "Meet Me In The City".
They remind me "Suffer Rosa" Pixies's era..."The Babies" are a side project of "Cassie Ramone" (guitarist and vocals - "Vivian Girls") and "Kevin Morby" (Woods). They're less intense than their main bands, but some songs are quite catchy like: "Wild 2", "Meet Me In The City", "Breaking The Law" and "All Things Come To Pass". To listen "Meet Me In The City".

Twilight Singers Dynamite Steps

"Dynamite Steps" é já o 5º álbum de Greg Dulli (ex-vocalista Afghan Whigs) nos "Twilight Singers" e é editado a 14 de Fevereiro. Quanto a mim, o álbum parece composto por vários ângulos do Rock Americano (Rock/Blues/Folk), o álbum vai discorrendo ilustrando histórias quotidianas polvilhadas de desalento. Para ouvir "Blackbird and the Fox" com a participação de "Ani di Franco"
"Dynamite Steps" Greg Dulli's 5Th record since he left "Afghan Whigs" and "Twilight Singers" release on February 14TH. As far as I can tell, this is a record that travels Thru American Rock (Rock/Blues/Folk), and as long as it plays music pictures histories of discouragement days. Papercuts - Fading Parade

Os "Papercuts" editam o seu 4º disco de originais "Fading Parade" dia 1 de Março de 2011. Para já é possivel ouvir "do what you will", que contará com uma edição limitada no formato 7'' e com um lado b "Thougths on hell". Embora este single não me tenha cativado por aí além, aguardo com expectativa o álbum. Sobretudo depois do decepcionante "You Can Have What You Want" de 2009.
"Papercuts" release their 4Th record "Fading Parade" on March 1st 2011. For now, it's possible to listen "do what you will", that will be release on a limited 7'' edition with a bonus non-track album "Thoughts on hell". Although I'm not very enthusiastic about this song, I have great expectations about the album. Especially after the disappointing 2009's "You Can Have What You Want".

the Kills - Blood Pressures

Não caibo em mim de contentamento: The Kills lançam o seu novo álbum "Blood Pressures" dia 4 de Abril. Ainda não sei nada sobre as novas musicas, a não ser o alinhamento, que está disponível no blog da banda. Escusado será dizer que vou estar muito atendo. Para recordar "Tape Song" do fantástico "Midnight Boom" de 2008.
I'm not in myself with such joy: The kills will release their new record "Blood Pressures" on April 4TH. I don't know anything about the new songs, but the line-up is available on Blog's band. Of course I'll be watching very closely their moves. To remember "Tape Song" from the fantastic 2008's "Midnight Boom".

Ducktails - Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics

Há algo de saudosismo melancólico na abordagem de um tipo de bandas Americanas do cantão Indie, ao explorarem sonoridades próximas dos "Beach boys" e outras bandas dos anos 50/60 anos, numa espécie de resgate dos tempos gloriosos, imortalizados sobretudo pelas Agencias de Publicidade da época (olá "MadMen", série magnífica). Os "Ducktails" enquadram-se no resgate a esse passado com o seu novo "Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics", a ser editado a 18 de Janeiro. Para ouvir "Killin' the vibe".
There's a melancholic longing in approach to the music made by one kind of American Indie Bands, by exploring sounds near the "Beach boys" or other bands from decades 50/60, in a kind of rescue of glory days, immortalized by the publicity Agencies (hello "Madmen", fantastic series).
"Ducktails" are in this past rescue with their new album "Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics", that will be release on January 18Th. To listen "Killin' the vibe".

Ones to Watch: Tall Ships

Apontados como uma das grandes esperanças para 2011, os "Tall Ships" têm em "Chemistry" um excelente cartão de apresentação. Se chegarão à primeira divisão, só o tempo o dirá. Entretanto, no myspace também se ouve "plate tectonics" e "vessels". Pode-se dizer que musicalmente estão póximos de bandas como os "Foals".
Pointed as the "ones to watch" for 2011, "Tall ships" have in their single "Chemistry" an extraordinary presentation card. If they will succeed in music world only time can tell. In the meanwhile, on myspace it's possible to listen "plate tectonics" and "vessels". Musically speaking they are like bands like "Foals".

Deerhoof - Deerhoof Vs. Evil

"Deerhoof Vs. Evil" marca o regresso dos canadianos "Deerhoof", os quais acompanho sempre com muito entusiasmo. Desta vez não é diferente e "Super Duper Rescue Heads" já tem video, correspondendo às minhas expectativas: Canção que parte das fronteiras do território Indie, sendo expandidas vezes e vezes sem conta. O álbum é editado a 25 de Janeiro.
"Deerhoof Vs. Evil" is the new comeback of Canadian band "Deerhoof", whom I watch very closely with joy. This time isn't different and the song "Super Duper Rescue Heads" have a video and fulfill my expectations: a song with borderlines of Indie matrix expanded over and over again. The record will be release on January 25Th.
