Acerca da música, a vocalista Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir disse ao NME, "A inspiração de "Alligator" centra-se na condução e energia. Não era necessariamente o que eu sentia no momento, mas eu queria sentir-me forte. Trata-se de encontrar aquele lugar de "empoderamento".

Los Angeles duo Bleached announce their forthcoming album, Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough, along with a new song and video "Hard to Kill". In a statement, Jennifer Clavin that “Hard To Kill” is about “staring down the road towards death and realizing I needed to wake up and get out of my selfish patterns of self destruction.” The album will come out July 12 Th via Dead Oceans.
